When I Was Deceived is the forty-seventh episode of the Natsume Yuujinchou anime. It first aired on February 20, 2012. It is the eighth episode for Natsume Yuujinchou Shi, which is the fourth season of the anime.
Summary
Nyanko-sensei falls into a well and discovers that there is a barrier inside it which is locking him in. Also in the well was Nanase, one of Matoba's assistant. She is looking for a certain stone with a youkai she had sealed in it, and tells Nyanko-sensei the story of how she met the youkai to pass the time.
This youkai was actually the one who taught her how to seal other youkai. The youkai was only able to use this ability because he himself was originally a piece of jade, until an exorcist gave life to him. With this exorcist dead, using a portion of his jade "body", he has sealed evil youkai in place of the exorcist.
When he became very weak due to using his jade too much, he asked the then young Nanase to seal him before he goes berserk. Nanase listened and sealed him away, thereafter throwing him into the well...
