It Blooms Tomorrow is the second episode of the sixth season and the sixty-fifth episode overall of the Natsume Yuujinchou anime series. It first aired on April 18, 2017.
Summary[]
Natsume's town is visited by a stonewasher: a powerful magical being capable of purifying tainted rocks. The stonewasher is looking for its lost student, and turns to Natsume for help.
Plot[]
While returning from shopping with Touko, Takashi finds a splendid pattern of blue flowers on a few rocks, which she couldn't see, meaning it drawn by a youkai. The next day, he sees the same pattern drawn on small stones on the riverbank while out fishing with Nishimura and Kitamoto.
That night, he arrives home to find the Dog's Circle partying at his house, which reveal that a stonewasher was behind the patterns. A Stonewasher is a youkai that purifies impure stones, rocks, pebbles, or boulders should they become the slightest tainted by vile spiritual energy.
The next afternoon, while returning home from school, he meets the stonewasher, purely by luck, who requests Natsume's assistance in finding his lost apprentice. Natsume then assigns this task to the Dog's Circle who also show up at that moment.
That night, the Chukyuu arrive at Natsume's house to inform of some intel and take him to the place where Azuma (Nanamaki's apprentice) was sealed by an amateur exorcist, who didn't know of Stonewashers.
After Nanamaki purifies the boulder behind which Azuma was sealed, the seal is weakened, thus allowing Madara to be able to break the seal. However, Azuma was not there, as he was hiding because after being exorcised, he could no longer wash stones. He is finally found by Natsume and Nanasaki at the riverbank and Nanasaki still accepts him back, even though he is no longer a Stonewasher.
